Admission Requirements


The Higher Diploma In Animal Husbandry (Hdah) Program Has Been Designed For Those Who Are Employed As
Farmworkers, Supervisors, Livestock Officers And Farmworkers Of Public, Semi-governmental Or Private Sector Livestock
Farms; Candidates Who Wish To Hold A Reputed Qualification In Animal Husbandry; And Any Person Who Wishes To Start A
Livestock Venture Having Any One Of The Following Qualifications.


1. Passed G.c.e. (Advanced Level) Examination In Any Stream In A Single Attempt With At Least 02-year Working
Experience In A Related Field
Or
Successful Completion Of Diploma Course Offered By The Department Of Livestock And Avian Sciences Of
Wusl Or Any Other Diploma Course Relevant To Livestock Field Of Education Which Is Equivalent To Or Above
Slqf-iii Or Nvql-v.


2. Qualifications Other Than Not Listed Above, But May Be Considered Case By Case And Acceptable To The Board Of
Study And The Senate Of Wusl.
Mode Of Selection: Applicants Fulfilling Admission Requirements Will Be Called To Appear For An Aptitude Test On
Basic Knowledge In Animal Husbandry In Sinhala/english. Those Who Obtain A Minimum Of 40% Will Be Called For A
Selection Interview. Only The Candidates Who Successfully Complete The Above Evaluations Will Be Selected.


Duration: Two (02) Years.


Mode & Medium Of Instruction: The Medium Of Instruction Will Either Be Sinhala Or English And An In-
Person Mode Of Education Will Be Used In Instructing The Students. Printed Learning Materials Will Also Be Provided. All
The Lectures And Practical Sessions Will Be Conducted At Dlas During The Weekends.
Course Fee: Rs. 180,000/- For The 02-year Program (To Be Paid In Two Equal Installments In Addition To The
Registration Fee Of Rs. 5,000/-).
